Walmart Inc. The Issa brothers and TDR Capital have acquired a majority position in Asda, but Walmart will keep an equity holding in the company, as well as a commercial connection and a seat on the board of directors.

The transaction was approved by the FCA on February 8, 2021, and all deal requirements were fully met. The parties are continuing to work cooperatively with the Competition and Markets Authority (“CMA”) on regulatory approval, which is presently scheduled for Q2 2021, and are optimistic about a favorable outcome.
